Densmore Farms originates from the corner of 36th and Densmore Ave N in Wallingford, Seattle and is where we smoked our very first pork belly. Since then, Densmore Farms has become an idea to strive for: a sunny stoop, hands in the dirt, fresh eggs, neighbors stopping by, and really good breakfasts. Our street sign logo represents the intersection of the urban lifestyle and those farm-life ideals. Thats very poetic and all – but the reality is that we make damn good bacon and smoked fish.
The Farm House. Built in 1900, our door locks rarely functioned and our ceiling was prone to occasional collapse but we still paid our rent on time. Our front corner was in variable states of function and disarray – abysmal in the winter but glorious in the spring and summer with sunflowers, peas, beans, greens, and tomatoes that could rival any. Our yard was littered with fencing to keep our chickens contained, but every afternoon they would break free to explore the neighborhood. Happy hour on the farm consisted of a Fremont Summer Ale and visits from the neighborhood kids to say hi to the Bok Boks and snag a blueberry or two.
